The Municipality of Jesolo is celebrating 25 April, the 81st anniversary of Liberation Day, by inviting residents to take part in commemorative ceremonies to mark the end of the Second World War and renew our commitment to peace, democracy and fundamental rights.
The programme includes a gathering at 9.45 am in Piazza I Maggio, where the procession will form. At 10.00 am in Piazza G. Matteotti, there will be a flag-raising ceremony, the laying of a wreath at the War Memorial and the throwing of a wreath into the River Sile. At 10.30 am, the procession will move to Piazzetta Partigiani d’Italia for a second ceremony featuring a flag-raising, the laying of a wreath and speeches by officials.
Afterwards, there will be a social gathering with a ‘vin d’honneur’ at Bar Martin. The ‘Leopoldo Pellas’ Bersaglieri Fanfare from Jesolo will be taking part.
Residents are invited to display the Italian tricolour. The event is open to all with free admission and will take place from 9.45 am to 11.00 am.
